Chapter 4. Generic Harry Potter Fanfiction
Cecil: Hi, Cecil here. Opening the door for a moment to say that Chapter 4 of Sevvie’s original jumpchain isn’t getting hosted on this site. You can read it here if you’d like to read a very bad Harry Potter fanfiction. Please keep in mind this story was written in 2018.

If you still want to read it, it’s a click away.
However, I will post the retrospective here.
2026 Retrospective:
The Harry Potter AU holds the dubious honor of the only AU i do not intend to return to this Sevvie Month, but Sevvie’s Generic Harry Potter Fanfiction is its own vegetable, so let’s talk about Sevvie’s trip to Hogwarts as Silene Potter, the female replacement for Harry.
Her build is bullshit. She can turn into a dragon, cast “parselmagic”, blood magic, necromancy, and mind magic. She has Beast Mastery. She has both technomastery and the “Dark Lord” perk which makes her a master of war magic. She has “Merlin Returned”, which makes her the most powerful mage to ever live, and Hyphenated Name, which gives her the powers of all her powerful ancestors. All in all, Sevvie is bullshit. She also picks up the Deathly Hallows, because of course she does.
Her companions are also bullshit. They all get Merlin Returned. Who truly is the most powerful mage to ever live? Unclear.
What’s interesting is that each of Sevvie’s companions goes to one of this jump’s “alignments”. Jiro is Light, focusing on healing magic (he can turn into a phoenix), Sasha is Grey, focusing on teleportation (he also gets Dark Lord though … and can also turn into a phoenix?) and Cadis is Dark, which seems the least like Cadis that I can consider. Cadis also gets a tricked out mansion, which I’m not sure ever shows up after this jump.
This story is organized into multiple chapters. In each, Sevvie derails the plot of Harry Potter.
Sasha (Alex) and Jiro (Jerry) are Silene’s younger siblings, who live with Neville. Sevvie ends up being sorted to Slytherin, where she rooms with Daphne Greengrass. Because Sevvie picked a drawback where the kids would be obsessed with romance (if you think this is weird, you’ve never read Harry Potter fanfiction), Daphne is portrayed as a sort of clueless girl in love with Crabbe, intentionally in opposition to the “Ice Queen” stereotype she ends up being in 99% of fanfiction.
Sometimes the details of Sevvie’s story still make me laugh, like the “Room of Living Tubas”. Sevvie convinces Cadis that the past wasn’t just a dream, but his actual life, and goes to his house for Christmas. There, they perform a ritual to …. Um, destroy almost all the Horcruxes in book one!
Maddox: Jumpers being ridiculous? I’m surprised… shocked… horrified…
Cypher: Is this going to be your bit, Mads?
Maddox: ….maybe.
Later in the year, Sevvie steals the Philosopher’s Stone. Then she binds Voldemort’s “physical form” to a goat, killing Quirrel. In year two, Sevvie requests Nicholas Flamel tutor her, but he refuses until she graduates Hogwarts. Sevvie finds the witch in America who stole the resurrection stone and fights her. Interestingly, Sevvie is defeated and loses her Horcrux in her scar. She then kills the witch by breaking her neck. This year, Sasha and Jiro go to Hogwarts. Sevvie practices legilimency on Lockhart, eventually resulting in him losing all his memories.
Quill: And here we thought Sevvie 2 was going to be morally grey.
Cecil: Yeah, there’s clearly precedent.
In year three, Sevvie struggles with the Dursleys and Dumbledore’s attempts to return her to them. In this story, due to a drawback Sevvie bought, Dumbledore is just… off. He’s sort of an addled character, and later we find out it’s because of a curse cast on him by the main antagonist of the story (not Voldemort). For example, he goes on in this part about family being like an egg, because “It has many legs.”Sevvie: "Pretty sure eggs don't have legs.”
It’s also turns out Sirius Black never escaped prison, but Sasha apprehends Pettigrew and turns him in. In yet another reversal of the typical fanfiction trope, this fixes nothing and Sirius Black is still in prison.
This year’s main event is Sevvie being forced to attend a Christmas camp with her relatives, the "Silene Potter Get Along With My Family Camp". It is eventually shut down by the Ministry of Magic.
I don’t know, this chapter is still kind of funny.
In year four, Sevvie goes to the Longbottom’s house and eventually heals Neville’s parents. Great. Then Sevvie suggests to Daphne that if she puts a fake name of a school into the goblet, she might get to be in the tournament, which results in 430 Triwizard champions. Nothing much happens in this chapter.
In year five, Sevvie is sent to Azkaban inexplicably for “Necromancy, Blood Magic, Teaching Dark Magic to Minors, Plotting the Murder of several Hogwarts professors, and Tax Fraud!"
As Sevvie herself says, “those last ones are totally not true!” It was only Lockhart.
Sevvie creates a wand out of her own bone and thestral hair from her thestral form and uses it to cast a patronus charm. She rescues Sirius and takes over Azkaban in typical bullshit fashion. She faces the dark witch who owned the Resurrection Stone again, then finds the person who was in charge of the conspiracy to put Sevvie in prison - Professor Flitwick’s evil twin brother, Cornelius.
In year six, Sevvie returns to school. She and Sirius are pardoned. As Sevvie herself says, “You were so much more effective when you were a Mary Sue!”
Cadis objects to this because Sevvie has no social skills.
Quill: She’s certainly a type of Mary Sue in this story, if such a thing has merit.
Casimir: I think “bullshit OP protagonist" and “Mary Sue” have different connotations. Sevvie is almost stereotypically masculine in how she performs this role. She has no romantic interests. There’s no focus on her appearance or charm. She’s like a swift razor, cutting through the situations she finds herself in with overwhelming firepower and humor.
The story ends with Sevvie apprenticing under Nicholas Flamel. After seven years, she creates her own Philosopher’s Stone and obtains a second type of immortality. Truly she is the Master of Death.Addendum for The Chimera Corner:
I don’t know why this is the line I’m putting in the sand. I’m sure there will be other stories with problematic authors who I just post fanfiction for normally. But there’s something about JK Rowling that just incites feelings of betrayal within me. When I was a kid, and even until my young adult years, I wanted to be her. I looked up to her.
And then she revealed her true colors.
