Jump 7. Generic Creepypasta

After this break, we were finally ready to go to Generic Creepypasta. I had a hard decision awaiting me. Did I want the support of my own organization to follow me wherever I went, or did I want those good good Cryptid powers? I thought and I thought about it… and in the end, I had to go with the latter. Some of them were just too good to pass up.

"Hey, so, is the Foundation drawback the actual SCP Foundation?" I asked my benefactor.

"No, but expect them to be on the level of an Organization with most, if not all of the options listed there," they replied. "There's a different jump for the SCP Foundation."

"Good to know, I am never going there," I told them in reply.

This world actually came with a slightly more elaborate backstory than usual. Sasha, Jiro and I were the heirs to a massive fortune, and our cousin, an occultist, plotted to kill us. He also planned to sacrifice us to the various demons he worshiped. But he was actually a really shit occultist and we ended up surviving the ritual, for certain values of surviving. I got jostled out of reality and into my own private realm, a small shard of Hell, and there figured out a way to return to reality. I managed to kill my cousin, steal his occult tomes, and reclaim my inheritance. I learned how to make myself a focus of rituals and how to be half in and half out of reality, giving me the ability to be undetectable by those within it.

Jiro was similarly sent into his own pocket realm, but it took him much longer to escape. While he was there, he learned to focus his mind and gained psychic abilities. By the time he finally emerged he had mastered them and was ready to use them on others.

Finally, Sasha was actually sent to Hell but the demon lord in charge of that region saw potential in him and trained him as his successor. He gained a massive demonic form and the ability to summon many demons to serve him, some more powerful than others.

Then there were the matter of those other two. Cadis was a spirit formed from the dark side of the internet, a being formed of its various pointless emotions. That was actually a problem because one of the first things we had to do in the jump was get him out of the Internet. Eurynomos was the ridiculously named "Shadowflame King". ...but I guess it suited him. He was a king of shadows, he could summon shadows, and he could set things on fire. I mean, it was pretty on the nose.

The jump began at the very first moment the three of us met once again in reality. "Finally, the three of us are united once more," said Jiro mentally. "Now we may-"

"Uh, wait, Jiro," I said, interrupting my brother. "We gotta find Cadis and Eurynomos first."

Jiro looked at me curiously. "I remember dreaming of two with that name. You shared my dreams?"

"Yeah, they weren't dreams," I told him. "Happened last jump. Come on. We gotta extract Cadis from the internet."

I sat down at my computer and opened a google doc. I began to type:

cadis get out of the internet
come hang out with us irl
it's me, sevvie
u know who i am
wait. fuck if you're not going by cadis rn
you're my friend cadis and you've been married to my brother for like centuries

After a minute or so, Cadis responded.

Who is this? Are you Seva?

I felt hurt by Cadis using the name that people who weren't my friends used.

Yes, that's me. Sevvie. Come on out, we can talk
I don't know if you've been able to leave before, but now you can.

He emerged from the computer, taking the form of a pointy-eared, tailed humanoid made of electricity. "What do you want?"

"What do I want? Cadis, you're our friend, I want to hang out," I told him. "I want you to remember who you are and then we can…" I thought. There wasn't really anything we had to do, actually. "I actually have no idea. But hey, the internet is a bad place to live."

"You can say that again," muttered Cadis.

I really didn't have a lot of plans in this world, except avoiding the Store Occult Anomalies and People Foundation. But slowly I found that many creatures of this world were drawn for me for pointless reasons. They wanted me to do pointless tasks for them or help them throw the SOAP Foundation off their back. That was actually how we met Eurynomos.

We mostly hung out at Cadis's house. It was never explained how a spirit of the internet owned a house but nobody questioned it. It was super heavily warded because we'd spent time on that.

I knew that destroying the SOAP Foundation would simply cause a stronger organization to rise up. So instead we planned to weaken it. The first part of this was releasing their secret files. Cadis was able to steal them with ease, and Jiro and I used the information we discovered about their various chemicals and other mind-control techniques to work on an antidote so that they wouldn't just drug people until they forgot about this.

And it mostly worked. Then the next step was to get people mobilized- to make them go against the SOAP Foundation. Legions of young people marched into the streets, joined by spawns, skeletons playing wind instruments despite their lack of lungs, and goats. They demanded that their governments stop giving money to this shadowy Foundation and permitting their extralegal activities.

Jiro, Sasha, and Cadis dealt with the political stuff, like always. I sort of regretted not buying any of that social stuff from Generic Harry Potter Fanfiction… only not really.

I felt happiest when I could just do stuff. Stuff that involved a lot of thinking and brain power sure, but that didn't involve the intricacies of bullshit social niceties and unwritten codes.

By the sixth year into the jump, the SOAP Foundation was sending agents into my pocket realm to try and kill me. I actually honestly stayed in there most of the time, turtling up. Jiro was the same. We could control our avatars from there, keeping our real bodies safe in our realms. My pocket realm was sort of similar to my version of Hell, while Jiro's was composed primarily of giant floating crystals and beautiful space-like landscapes. I honestly found his realm a cooler place in general than my own. But my own I guess suited me more.

Still, a mage's own home is always the worst place to attack them- especially when said home is one they have incredible control over. We'd performed multiple rituals here to protect from invaders of all sorts. Even with the SOAP Foundation pulling in their favors, drawing upon their agreements with all sorts of supernatural organizations and beings… they weren't able to destroy me. Heck, they weren't even really hurting me all too much. I was just a lot stronger than anything they could bring to bear.

It was sort of weird that my first 520 years were pretty slow when it came to gathering power, but in the last 40ish years I had gotten a lot stronger. It was my 7th jump, and I was already reasonably powerful. I had no doubt that whenever this thing ended and I went back home we'd be able to make a lot of changes there.

Like, I'd be able to make my dads immortal. They were both atheists, which was something they'd passed onto me. When I came back I'd be taking my afterlife with me, and I guess I'd start collecting souls into it if I'd been right about that. And if I'd been wrong, then I'd certainly know, with my connection to death and all.

Anyway, by the end of the jump the SOAP Foundation was a shadow of its former self. New organizations had sprung up to deal with the truly dangerous artifacts and beings that really did need to be imprisoned, but for the most part cryptids and other such beings walked among the general populace. We distributed magical items to the general public so that they had defenses against some of their more common and dangerous abilities, but really the… less serious nature of this world made it so that they weren't really as much as a threat as they could have been.

2026 Retrospective:
This jump almost has a story. Sasha, Jiro, and Sevvie are heirs to a massive fortune and their evil occultist cousin plans to sacrifice them to the demons he worships. They end up becoming cryptid entities themselves.
Sevvie gets her own pocket dimension, a shard of hell, and literally small-g god powers. People can perform rituals to communicate with her, be marked, visit her pocket dimension, etc. She can mutate others and lay curses on them.
Jiro gets his own pocket realm as well, and various psychic abilities. He has ESP and emotion manipulation, as well as fear abilities.
Sasha doesn’t get a pocket realm, but does get trained by a demon lord and gains fire powers, gigantic size, and the ability to create powerful minions.
Cadis is a “spirit formed from the dark side of the internet”, with cyber powers, and Eurynomos is a “king of shadows”.
Before the jump even begins though, Sevvie kills her occultist cousin, ruining any chance of him being relevant to the plot. Then the jump begins. The three siblings reunite, and Sevvie’s like “alright, time to get the gang.”
Uh…. nothing actually happens? The group fights against the Store Occult Anomalies and People Foundation (SOAP has been a running joke) and eventually defeats them. At one point Sevvie says this: “I felt happiest when I could just do stuff. Stuff that involved a lot of thinking and brain power sure, but that didn't involve the intricacies of bullshit social niceties and unwritten codes.” It’s very Sevvie.

Quill: Sevvie also says this: “It was my 7th jump, and I was already reasonably powerful.” It’s very silly. Sevvie, you are literally a Demon Lord/Lady. You are super immortal. You are the most powerful mage in most settings you visit.
